The CPT or Common Proficiency Test is the first level of examination for students who wish to pursue a career in chartered accountancy. The test is conducted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). It is a two-hour long objective type examination consisting of 200 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) split evenly across 4 sections. CPT has been made mandatory for every student desiring to enroll in ICAI’s CA course from 1st July 2017 onwards.
