What the Technology Translation Award Is Trying to Do (SERB-TETRA)
The Science and Engineering Research Board started SERB-TETRA to fund core research grants and similar projects that have a chance of being translated at TRL5 or higher through a competitive process.

The winner of the translation award will get the money for two years.
Up to 15 lahks will be given each year for an unstructured budget that includes expenses.
Criteria for eligibility
- Principal investigators of ongoing research grants and all extramural grants that have been finished in the last three years where the principal investigator has a patent or has applied for a patent are the only ones who can apply.
- The applicant must have a Ph.D. in science, math, or engineering, or an M.D., M.S., M.D.S., or M.V.Sc.
- The applicant must be an Indian citizen, an overseas citizen of India, or a non-resident Indian who meets the criteria set by SERB.
- Applicant must hold a regular academic/research position in a recognised academic institution or national laboratory or in any other recognised R&D institution in India with at least 3 years of service left.
- Private academic institutes with UGC/AICTE/PCI approval, private R&D institutions with valid DSIR-SIRO approval, and government organisations that are registered with the NITI Aayog darpan portal can host the project.

- The candidates will be chosen based on the advice of the programme advisory committee, which was put together by the board. Applicants might be asked to talk or give a presentation as part of the final selection process.
How to Apply for the Technology Translation Award (SERB-TETRA) in 2023
- To apply for the Technology Transfer Award, you must go to the Science and Engineering Research Board’s official website.
- On the portal’s home page, you have to click “Login,” and if you haven’t signed up yet, you have to do that first.
- To sign up, you have to click the “New User” button, which will bring up the application form.
- After registering, the user login dashboard will be ready for use.
- Now you need to look for the news about the Technology Transfer Award.
- Click the “Apply” button and fill out the form.
- Upload all the important papers in the format asked for.
- Send in the application form and make a copy of it to use later.
