Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme for Central Armed Police Forces and Assam Rifles Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the scholarship, the applicant must meet the following rules:
- For CAPFs and Assam Rifles: Wards/widows of deceased CAPFs and Assam Rifles personnel who died in harness or on election duty, wards of personnel who became disabled because of their work for the government, and wards of ex-CAPFs and Assam Rifles personnel who received Gallantry Awards.
- The children and widows of retired and active CAPF and AR personnel. Personnel below the rank of officer who are studying for their first professional degree in engineering, medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, BBA, BCA, B. Pharma, B.SC (nursing, agriculture, etc.), MBA, MCA, etc.
- Minimum Entry Qualification (MEQ), which is 10+2/Diploma/Graduation or equivalent, must be passed with at least 60%. Or For people who want to apply under the “renewal” category, they must get at least 50% in each academic year of the professional courses they are taking.
- If a candidate takes too long to send in their application to renew their scholarship, they may be given a grace period of one year.
- For the State Police:
- This category is for the dependent children of State Police personnel who die in terror or Naxal attacks, as long as the following is true:
- Going to school for a first professional degree in engineering, medicine, dentistry, veterinary science, BBA, BCA, B. Pharma, B.SC (nursing, agriculture, etc.), MBA, MCA, etc.

How long the scholarship lasts

- Girls get Rs. 3000 per month.

- Scanned copy of the mark sheet for MEQ (Minimum Entry Qualification), which is Class 12, Diploma, Graduation, or an equivalent PPO or Discharge certificate (mandatory for category A to F)
