The Millennium Fellowship for Undergraduate Student Leaders is offered by the United Nations Academic Impact and the Millennium Campus Network. The Millenium Palace Shop is a campus-based leadership programme that runs for a semester. The UN Academic Impact and the MNC both help to improve leadership. This programme brings together, challenges, and honours brave student leaders who work on campus and in their communities to reach the sustainable development goals. Millennium campus network INC. is a global network that works to further the Sustainable Development goals of the United Nations. Students from all over the world work on this programme to reach the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, which was adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015.
What is Millenium Fellowship 2023?
Between August 2022, when the programme starts, and November 2022, when it ends, cohorts of Millennium Fellows will meet on their own campuses at least once a month to work on the leadership development programme.
Campus Directors will push Fellows to share their best ideas and work together on one or more of the Sustainable Development Goals.
When they are done, MCN and UNAI will give each Millennium Fellow a certificate of completion for their Millennium Fellowship Project.
Soon, the programme will be held on some campuses around the world. Applications will be looked at as they come in, and students who are eligible will move on to the second and final round of applications.

How to be eligible for a Millennium Fellowship
- The person who wants to apply must be a first-year college student in good academic standing for the duration of the programme.
- A person must be at least 18 years old to apply.
- You agree to meet in person at least eight times with your Campus Directors and other Fellows on your campus during the Millennium Fellowship (which will run from August to November 2022). These meetings are for sharing best practises and taking action as a group. For the Fellowship sessions, students must meet in person on campus.
- Commit to meeting in person with your Campus Directors and Fellows at least eight times during the programme.
- Between August and November 2022, you are working on or planning to work on a project that moves at least one Sustainable Development Goal forward.
How to Apply for the Millennium Fellowship Program
Application: There will usually be 8–20 Millennium Fellows at each chosen campus hub (meaning you are strongly encourage to invite your colleagues and classmates on your campus to apply as well). You have to send in your Millennium Fellowship Project when you apply. No matter what your project is, it must have a deadline and be something you can make a real, measurable difference in during the Millennium Fellowship (August–November). It must also advance at least one Sustainable Development Goal and one UNAI principle. Some examples could be, but are not limited to, the following:
- You could be in charge of an AIESEC, ENACTUS, or UNICEF chapter on your campus that works to achieve UN goals.
- Writing a series about the Sustainable Development Goals for your campus newspaper as a journalism student.
- running a social enterprise.
- Research that is new and helps reach UN goals in a concrete way.
- proposing a group action as a Project, which is a campus-wide or community-wide effort that helps the UN reach its goals.
Gather, Push, and Celebrate
Between August and November, the Millennium Fellows hold at least 8 meetings on their own campuses. During these sessions, Campus Directors will guide you through the MCN Action Toolkit, which is a flexible curriculum that will help you think about your core values, improve your skills, and take action for UN goals. As a campus hub, you will learn about a number of things during the Fellowship sessions, which are part of the MCN Action Toolkit:
- cultivating core values (empathy, humility, inclusion).
- honing hard skills (how to write a budget, and create SMART goals).
- honing soft skills (team management, pitching your Project).
- peer-to-peer feedback means sharing best practises to help each other get past problems with your Project and looking for more ways to work together.
- You will take on the challenge of giving feedback to your peers to help them with their projects while leading your own.
- As a campus hub, you may also decide to take part in a group action, like working with your administration to update a campus sustainability plan.
- If you were an active Millennium Fellow and finished your Project, the MCN and UNAI will honour your work. You will get a certificate from the United Nations Academic Impact and the MCN that says you finished your Millennium Fellowship Project successfully.
